Learn to Sew with Knits Class

THIS IS AN IN PERSON CLASS

Makers Lodge Studio – 428 Ramsay Concession 8, Carleton Place

Class will be 5 hours, with a 30 min lunch break. Class is held in the upper level of the studio. If accessibility with stairs is a concern, please let us know and a main level option is available.

This class will include the “Meet the Machines” certification – this is a mandatory component for Makers Lodge Sew days.

The class topics will cover:

• Meet the Machines course (1 hour)
• types of knit fabric (Stretchy fabrics)
• pattern selecting
• pattern printing
• sizing selection
• Taping/cutting patterns and fabrics
• sewing with knits (Serging and top stitching options)

Class will include:

• fabrics
• sewing accessories
• sewing machines (serger, machine, and coverstitch)

Class will make the following:

• 2 cloths
• 1 beanie

There is coffee/tea/soda available on site. There is also a modern composting toilet washroom on the main level.

Courses are non refundable but are transferable to another sewist. Classes are subject to a class minimum and may be cancelled due to low registration and a refund will be issued in this case.
