Waxed Canvas Water Bottle Bag Class

During this workshop, we will be learning how to make waxed canvas. We will then be using this waxed canvas to sew a water bottle bag! 2 sizes are available- one that fits a 32 oz or smaller bottle or one with a pocket sized for a kobo reader and a larger water bottle (bring your reader to check size). We will also be learning how to interface waxed canvas, how to install zippers on a pocket, how to create a false binding at the top of a pocket for decoration, and how to install grommets. We will also be working with other fabrics such as cork and vinyl to create the pockets.

Level: Intermediate

Required for this session:

• Ability to use a sewing machine independently
• Cutting with a rotary cutter or scissors

Patterns requirement:

• Pattern is included in the class

Class will include:

• Supplies needed for the class
• use of sewing space during the 4 hour class
• all sewing accessories, and thread (specific colours not guaranteed)
• Use of Makers Lodge sewing machines (if applicable from booking choice)

There is coffee/tea/soda available on site. There is also a modern composting toilet washroom on the main level.

Courses are non refundable but are transferable to another sewist. Classes are subject to a class minimum and may be cancelled due to low registration and a refund will be issued in this case.
