Learn to Spin Yarn on a Drop Spindle

Date: June 20th, 2026

Time: 10am – 12pm

Location: Makers Lodge – 428 Ramsay Concession 8, Carleton Place

This course will be taught by Angela Turner from PewPewDyeDyeDye.

This is a beginners course, no prior experience needed. This course is not recommended for children, we recommend students are 16 years or older.

This will be a fun and lively class with bright colours and bright personalities! Angela has a wealth of knowledge to share in the excitement of a true fibre enthusiast – we are so happy to have her in the Makers Lodge studio for this spinning class!

Course Materials Included:

• Roving braid (Malabrigo Nube – you will choose your colour in class!)

Course Materials Required:

• Drop Spindle (you can purchase one from Makers Lodge and pick up at the class – they are $15)

You will learn:

• introduction to using a drop spindle
• spinning fibre into yarn singles
• how to ply and finish your yarn

This course will be held on the upper level of the Makers Lodge Studio. There is a modern composting toilet washroom on the main level.

Coffee/tea/soda are available.

Bookings are non-refundable but can be transferred to another maker. Please select “studio bookings or local pick up” to avoid shipping charges.
