Sew Together – Adult and Kid!

THIS IS AN IN PERSON CLASS

Makers Lodge Studio – 428 Ramsay Concession 8, Carleton Place

This session will be 3 hours, and is held in the upper level of the studio. If accessibility with stairs is a concern, please let us know and a main level option is available.

This class will allow kids and adults a chance to learn to sew together in a fun and encouraging environment.

We can work along together on the same project or duos can work independently on a project they have in mind. There will be extra guidance in studio.

Skills to be covered during these sessions:

• Safety around sewing machines, scissors, pins and all the parts of a sewing room
• Cutting fabrics
• basic use of sewing machine
• Choosing, and completing projects

Class will include:

• Sewing machines (all our machines have a speed control, which is great for learning!) and each duo will have 1 sewing machine and 1 serger to work on.
• all sewing accessories, and thread

Class Requirements:

• fabrics to complete your project
• patterns to complete projects (class suggestions will use free patterns)
• any notions needed for your project

Age Recommendation: We recommend kids are 7+ for these sessions.

Suggested projects:

May 26th, 1-4 pm- tote bag

June 23rd, 1-4 pm – Poncho or Beach cover-up Cancelled

July 27th, 10-1 pm – Aprons

Sept/Oct/Nov – We will work on making a lap quilt. Dates TBD

There is coffee/tea/soda available on site. There is also a modern composting toilet washroom on the main level.

Courses are non refundable but are transferable to another sewist. Classes are subject to a class minimum and may be cancelled due to low registration and a refund will be issued in this case.
